Coldplay frontman Chris Martin still cringes in regards to the moment Beyonce described considered one of his songs as “awful”.

The British band was joined by the 34-year-old for your Superbowl half-time show on Sunday, whenever they teamed up with Bruno Mars on an all-star sing-along.

Chris and Beyonce happen to be friends for a long time but he admits she hasn’t for ages been a fan of his music efforts.

In a whole new interview with Rolling Stone, the 38-year-old recalled the instant he presented a track called Hook Up to Beyonce and her producer Stargate, just for her to change it down “in the sweetest possible way”.

“She laughed and said, ‘I like you – but this really is awful’,” the Brit said.

Formation singer is not the only high quality artist that has turned down a Chris Martin-penned tune – the singer recently confessed the late Bowie declined a duet in 2014.

“I sent him a song to question him to sing onto it,” Chris said inside a tribute piece towards the rock icon, who lost his grapple with cancer recently (Jan16). “He called me and said, ‘It’s not one among your best’.”

Meanwhile, the Coldplay Everglow star also used his new Rolling Stone interview to start up in regards to the status of his amicable divorce with Gwyneth Paltrow, the caretaker of his two kids.

“I employ a wonderful separation-divorce,” Martin said. “It’s divorce but it’s a weird one. I don’t think of that word often. I don’t visualize it that way. I visualize it as similar to you meet someone, you could have some time together and things just proceed through.”

Gwyneth as well as the couple’s kids, Moses and Apple, showed their support for the Super Bowl, by cheering dad’s band on at a luxury box at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
