Iron Maiden are actually announced as headliners of Donnington’s Download Festival, for the purpose will be their only UK tour date of 2016.

Maiden will headline the Sunday night (June 12), and are also the first act being announced for next year’s festival. The show forms portion of the ‘The Book Of Souls’ tour.

Bruce Dickinson has commented on the romance of the festival:

“Download is an extremely special location for us. Not just because it’s always great to experiment with on home turf but because there’s a really unique vibe there, it’s abdominal muscles heart of England in addition to Metal, so a fitting area for Iron Maiden!”

“The crowd is often fiercely passionate along with the whole band feeds off that famous Donnington energy. We make an effort to deliver an extremely memorable show for fans to seal the 2016 Festival. Although this is our sixth time headlining at Castle Donnington, it’s the initial time we’ve had time to land Ed Force One upon the doorstep.”

Dickinson adds:

“We haven’t decided upon the set list confirmed and won’t until we start rehearsing but we actually look forward to playing numerous new songs live, especially since the recording was much live.”

“However, as it’s been a little while since we had you all, I am sure we shall include lots of older fan favourites too. I think the fans are going to be delighted as to what we have in your mind. We are also in the heart of creating the brand new show and feel comfortable we are making an effort to bring everyone something spectacular, something with numerous heart!!! You certainly deserve it on your patience.”

Iron Maiden scored a UK number 1 with ‘The Book Of Souls’ a few weeks ago, selling 60,000 copies in the first week. The album was recorded as Dickinson battled cancer. Around the same time, Dickinson told an interviewer that they had ‘always regretted’ not punching Axl Rose.

The ‘The Book Of Souls’ tour can be set to accept band to China for the very first time.
