Pop star Justin Bieber hopes making “good music” are going to be enough to aid him win his first Grammy.
The 21-year-old Love Yourself singer received a nomination on Monday (07Dec15) within the Best Dance Recording category for Where Are U Now, his collaborative single with EDM superstars Diplo and Skrillex.
It marks once in five-years that Justin may be nominated for any Grammy and prior to the full listing of nominees was revealed, he told Entertainment Tonight winning one of several prestigious awards was in his five career aspirations.
“I think all it requires making good music,” he stated. “I think the remaining goes to the amount the Grammy board likes you. Hopefully they only like me, I don’t know. That’s all I can really require.”
Justin was infamously beaten from the Best New Artist category by jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding this year, and from the same year, his album My World 2.0, lost seem to Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster inside Best Pop Vocal Album genre.
Justin shared his excitement within the latest nomination via social media marketing, writing on Facebook: “Diplo Skrillex Grammy time boys. Congrats. #WhereAreUNow #PURPOSE” – even so the star can be a little disappointed his runaway success What Do You Mean? was snubbed.
However his latest album, Purpose, and then future singles as a result, is going to be in contention to the 2017 ceremony, since the next quantity of eligibility for that 59th Grammy Awards began on 1 October (15).
After discussing his Grammy goals, Justin revealed his other career aspirations to Entertainment Tonight.
“Some form of Hall of Fame,” he stated. “Like Rock and Roll Hall of Fame could be pretty crazy. I’m not obviously any good rock and roll artist.”
The 58th Grammy Awards is going to take place on 15 February 2016.
