Justin Bieber secured his music comeback on the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday (25Oct15) by becoming the greatest winner with the night with five prizes.
The Baby singer, who revived his music career a few months ago (15), was the very first winner in the night, buying the Best Male accolade for your sixth consecutive time. Check What do you mean sheet music.
He continued his successful streak with awards for Biggest Fans, Best Worldwide Act: North America, Best Look and Best Collaboration for his track Where Are U Now featuring Skrillex and Diplo.
Picking the collaboration prize, Bieber said, “This may be an okay night for me personally. First of all I wanted to convey Skrillex and Diplo, man, those guys are very talented and incredibly helped me take my music to a higher level so I just to convey thank you to Skrillex and Diplo.
“Once again, thanks a lot to my mum and pop, my buddy and sister, I miss you much, I just want to offer you a big old kiss plus a hug. I can never not thank everybody in this particular audience, and everybody world wide. I’m shaking a bit because I’m much like, ‘this is indeed awesome!’ I’m done. Thank you guys, you’re awesome.”
Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes both scored two awards. The British singer, who co-hosted the ceremony with actress/DJ Ruby Rose, won Best Live Act and Best World Stage for his performances and Mendes took home gongs for Best Push Act and Best New Act.
Taylor Swift have been predicted since the big winner as she lead the nominations with nine, but she only went home with one prize for Best Song for Bad Blood, featuring Kendrick Lamar.
Other winners included One Direction for Best Pop, Rihanna for Best Female, Nicki Minaj for Best Hip-Hop and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ Downtown won Best Video.
Veteran rockers Duran Duran won the inaugural Video Visionary Award with regards to impact on music promos in the ceremony in Milan, Italy.
