Pop star Nick Jonas embraced his vulnerable side on his upcoming album Last Year Was Complicated.

The 23-year-old split from his girlfriend of 2 yrs, Olivia Culpo, not too long ago, and also the album’s title suggests the songs are pretty much about the break-up.

Nick were afraid of baring his soul for your record, and told to People Magazine how his inner feelings inspired him to post his most personal lyrics.

“It’s always hard to open yourself up this way, however it’s important to get vulnerable,” he stated. “Right now, now, Beyonce and Drake and all sorts of these artists really are embracing vulnerability; it will make a huge difference. I’m working my hardest to get out my stories and my music and connect with my fans – and my self – in like that.”

Nick and former Miss USA Olivia, 23, called time around the relationship in June, blaming their hectic work schedules, and Nick hinted then that his future work may very well be influenced by their split.

“It’s very tough so we had a beautiful couple of years together and (I have) only love and respect on her behalf,” he told E! News. “But it is usually hard and my thing now could be focusing on my work and staying as busy as I can, as creative as I could be. These are the times you’ve just received to join in and get lost inside your work that is certainly what I’m seeking to do,”

Nick will release Last Year Was Complicated each week before he commences his joint Future Now tour with good friend, Demi Lovato, and hubby told People he could be pumped up concerning the gigs.

“I imagine that the thing that makes touring with Demi so exciting is we’re friends, obviously, but our partnership using the record label we started along with the ability to develop a night of music and possess it not seem like a festival lineup but an entire show, with intertwined sets (causes it to be all work),” he stated. “That’ll make it interesting for us plus the fans.”

The singers launched their record label, Safe House Records, in May not too long ago.
