The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has paid tribute to Thomas Ayad, Mercury Records’ international product manager who lost his life in last week’s Paris terrorist attacks.

At least 129 individuals were killed and around 350 injured from a series of violent attacks from the French capital on Friday night (November 13). Music venue Le Bataclan was the worst hit, with 118 civilians killed throughout a shooting with an Eagles Of Death Metal concert.

Ayad’s death was confirmed by Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge recently, who said: “This is undoubtedly an unspeakably appalling tragedy. On behalf of everyone only at UMG, we extend our most profound sympathies to his parents causing all of his family and friends.”

Now Keith Richards, who had caused Ayad within the past, has uploaded a picture of the pair together to Instagram.

In a caption, Richards wrote: “My heartfelt condolences go out to family members and friends of Thomas Ayad. Words cannot express the horror with the items happened in Paris. I am horrified through the tragic events that occurred in Paris last Friday night”.
