Taylor Swift fired back at Kanye West by slyly blasting the rapper during her Album with the Year acceptance speech for the Grammy Awards on Monday night.

The rapper debuted new material from his album The Life of Pablo a week ago (11Feb16) and took focus on Taylor in their track Famous, during which he raps, “I sense that me and Taylor might still have intercourse, yeah I made that b**ch famous.”

In the song, Kanye references his infamous onstage interruption on the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when he grabbed the microphone off Taylor as she involved to accept the Female Video with the Year award, while he felt Beyonce deserved to win instead.

After he premiered the tune, Taylor’s representatives denied claims she approved in the song, insisting Taylor declined to market it on Twitter.com and “cautioned him about releasing a song basic a strong misogynistic message… Taylor wasn’t made aware on the actual lyric, ‘I made that b**ch famous’.” Meanwhile, Kanye insisted he didn’t slam the pop star because she emerged the lyric idea herself.

And the first time since Famous was launched, Taylor spoke out concerning the war of words – and used her platform in the Grammy Awards to communicate her mind.

After Taylor was given the Album from the Year trophy to be with her record 1989, she told everyone else, “As the initial woman to win Album with the Year for the Grammys twice, I wanna say to each of the young women in existence that there are gonna be people on the way who seek to undercut your making success or take credit for ones accomplishments or perhaps your fame,” generating a slight nod to Kanye’s song.

She continued, “If you only focus on the work and also you don’t let people side track you, someday once you get where you are heading, you’ll look around so you will be aware that it was you and the folks who love you who placed you there. And that will be unique feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.”

In addition for the Album from the Year prize, she also won Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989, along with Best Music Video on her behalf Bad Blood promo with Kendrick Lamar.
