Carly Rae Jepsen is pleased to be a ‘much more rugged’ together with her new music.

The 29-year-old is the most suitable known for her hit single Call Me Maybe. But her new single Run Away With Me shows a stripped down version with the singer, in her sound and also the accompanying video.

‘Half of their footage was shot by my boyfriend, who’s going to be a cinematographer, and I didn’t even realise I was being filmed,” she told Rolling Stone. “I am in no make-up and mom jeans. It was a challenging decision to set that version of myself available, however I feel free. I’m like, ‘So it is precisely what I appear to be without million-dollar cameras on me.’ It’s a much more rugged.”

This became a conscious decision on Carly’s part, as she felt too polished well as over produced to be with her last album, Kiss. For her, she wished to re-establish who she was for an artist back with her new record, Emotion.

Run Away With Me

‘It has been evolving the idea of that of a pop star is and acts like and appearance like,’ she explained. ‘For the final record, I had moved fresh from Canada to L.A., and was like, ‘Okay, give me an idea me to accomplish? I’ll do just about anything; many thanks; that one thing.’ But now, I can arrive to photo shoots and become like, ‘I’m so very happy to be here, but I shouldn’t wear the fluffy pink dress.'”
Carly admits she hasn’t totally left the dreamy, romantic girl behind her though.

‘I tried very difficult not to write the many songs about love,” she added. “But I couldn’t get it done. So please forgive me for not writing one full song which is not about a man.”
