Zayn Malik has thanked fans because of their support following a severe panic and anxiety attack forced him to cancel his first live U.K. performance.
The former One Direction singer have been billed to strike the stage in the Capital FM Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, but he disappointed gig-goers by taking out at late notice.
As festival organisers broke this news to fans on the venue, Zayn loved social media to attempt to explain himself inside a candid, lengthy note.
“I flew in the UK the other day to appear within my home country looking at my family, friends and even more importantly, my UK fans,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, my anxiety which has haunted me throughout the last quarter or so around live performances has become the better of me…using the magnitude on the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.”
Zayn took to apologise for letting his fans down whenever they had patiently waited to view him perform, but promised to really make it up to them after he could.
“I know people who suffer anxiety will understand and I hope people who don’t can empathize with my situation,” he added.

The ex-boyband member returned to Twitter.com in the beginning Sunday to show his gratitude for Gigi and the fans for his or her tireless support.
